• It is imperative to preserve patient privacy. Photographs showing the full face will not be accepted unless explicit, written, signed informed consent is attached, specifying publication on DermNet NZ.
• Generally, presentation of proof of the patient's informed consent is mandatory. We strongly recommend downloading and using the official DermNet image consent form to standardize the process.
• There are very limited exceptions for exceptionally unique images or cases with outstanding dermatological historical value. They might be considered without the written form only if subject identification is absolutely unfeasible.
• When submitting your material, please indicate transparently whether you wish to receive public recognition for your authorship upon publication of your valuable contribution.

Unless shared ownership agreements or specific licenses have been formalized, the images you assign to DermNet NZ become an integral part of the legal property of DermNet New Zealand Incorporated. It is fundamental to understand the implications of this assignment.

• DermNet NZ will apply our distinctive watermark to any image whose dimensions exceed 250 pixels on both its horizontal and vertical axes, as a measure of protection and attribution.
• In order to promote teaching and training, we permit the free and unrestricted use of our visual material in purely educational contexts (such as academic presentations or class slides), as stipulated in our official image licensing policy.
• To help sustain our operational infrastructure and site maintenance, DermNet New Zealand Incorporated applies an administrative fee for the use of images for commercial purposes, when extremely high-resolution copies are requested, or if delivery of the image without our watermark is required.
