Absolute Rules for Metastatic Crohn's Disease and its Cutaneous Pathology<\/h1>\n

Patients suffering from Crohn's disease are at risk of developing sterile, cutaneous lesions<\/span> outside of the gastrointestinal tract. Differential Diagnosis of Metastatic Crohn's Disease<\/h2>\n

Establishing the **differential diagnosis** of Crohn's disease metastatic<\/span> is crucial, as several conditions can mimic its histological findings.<\/p>\n

Sarcoidosis:<\/strong> Differentiating it can be complex without adequate clinical correlation. The granulomas<\/span> observed in Crohn's disease are typically less well-defined<\/span> (as seen in figure 5) compared to sarcoidosis. Furthermore, ulceration and eosinophil density are less common findings in sarcoidosis.<\/p>\n

Mycobacterial Infection:<\/strong> It is imperative to rule out the presence of mycobacterial infection. This requires performing special stains and their corresponding culture<\/span> to confirm its absence.<\/p>\n

Granulomatous Cheilitis (Orofacial Granulomatosis):<\/strong> This condition can appear histologically histologically<\/span> identical to MCD. In these cases, the patient's clinical characteristics are fundamental for achieving a precise differentiation.<\/p>\n
