Es menos com\u00fan que la tinea capitis y generalmente afecta solo a hombres adultos.<\/p>\n<p>La causa de la ti\u00f1a de la barba suele ser un hongo zoof\u00edlico (animal):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>T. verrucosum (procedente de ganado)<\/li>\n<li>T. mentagrophytes var.  equinum (procedente de caballos)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>La ti\u00f1a de la barba suele deberse a una infecci\u00f3n de la cara gruesa. <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"122\">cabello<\/span> con un patr\u00f3n ectothrix<span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"2269\">esporas<\/span> en el exterior). Rara vez se transmite de una persona a otra.<\/p>\n<p>La ti\u00f1a de la barba suele estar muy inflamada con \u00e1reas rojas abultadas, <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"1016\">p\u00fastulas<\/span> y <span class=\"term\" data-term-id=\"966\">costras<\/span> alrededor de los pelos (kerion).  Los pelos se pueden arrancar f\u00e1cilmente.
